Is the Museum of Natural History Pay what you wish?
The American Museum of Natural History has a suggested admission price. This pay-what-you – wish option is only available on-site at the ticket counters. It’s important to note that purchasing your tickets ahead of time will allow you to skip the ticket line, which in the high season can take 1 hour or more.

If you wish to pay less than the general admission ticket prices, you may purchase your ticket at one of The Met’s locations with a valid ID. We suggest the following general admission ticket prices: $25 for adults, $17 for seniors, and $12 for students, but you may pay what you wish.
Is the Natural History Museum free?

What day is the MoMA free?
FREE FRIDAYS The Museum of Modern Art provides free admission every Friday night from 5:30 pm – 9 pm. Your free ticket gives you access to all the museum galleries and special exhibitions.
What is pay as you wish?
Some firms use a curious pricing mechanism called “ pay as you wish ” pricing (PAYW). When PAYW is used, a firm lets consumers decide what a product is worth to them and how much they want to pay to get the product. This practice has been observed in a number of industries.
How long does it take to do the Natural History Museum?
We recommend a minimum of two and a half hours to experience the Museum. Give yourself an extra hour if you are seeing one of our shows or special exhibitions. If you have purchased the General Admission + All package, plan on spending at least four hours plus enough time for lunch.

Can I bring a backpack into the Met?
Visitors cannot bypass the security line outside the Museum. Small backpacks may be brought into the galleries if they are worn on your front or side. We encourage visitors to bring water in plastic and secure bottles into the Museum. Weapons and hazardous materials are not permitted in the Museum.
Which museum is better MoMA or met?
Both institutions are world-class museums that any art or culture lover should definitely visit at least once in their lives, but they have important differences, too. The Met is larger by far, with more gallery space and larger collections. The MoMA specializes in modern and contemporary art.
Is the Met suggested donation?
Under current rules, visitors pay as much as they please, though the suggested donation price is $25 per person. But the Met said, only 17% of the people who visited the museum last year paid the full $25. The Met is one of the largest art museums in the world and a top New York City tourist attraction.
